Greed Is The Most Driving Force Of Our Modern Society

Greed manages to be possibly the most driving force in our modern society. It fuels a multitude of things: hate, need for power, many peoples’ reasons for attending higher level schools, etc. Whether we notice it or not, greed is there. It is always there. It hides itself behind false courtesy and kindness. It is a dark horse. Greed affects us all both negatively and positively. We can rarely change this effect. If greed were a person, it would be the person you see not assisting anyone. It would be the person that pushes down every other person in their way to climb up society’s towers. People infected with greed are generally people we see thriving every day- the people with the â€Å"give me†, self-righteous attitudes that propel them to the top of their invisible thrones. Greed is the person that is filled to the brim with envy and hatred of everyone around them. Greed is the winner. Always. Even if everyone around them suffers, greed wins. It will find a way . If everyone were homeless, greed would not care. Greed is not kind. Greed does not give to others. Greed is a thief of both emotional and literal terms. It steals into the soul and pulls out all hope that people have for a prosperous and bright future. Is greed controllable? Like I said previously, it is everywhere. Do we choose this? If we all chose to battle greed, could we overcome it, or at least moderate it? The answer is: probably, but there is another problem that surfaces.
